Connexions is a national government initiative that supports all young people aged between 13 and 19 years (and up to 25 for young people who have learning difficulties and disabilities, or both). Connexions provides free, impartial and confidential advice, guidance and personal development services on a range of issues which affect young people.
Connexions Personal Advisers (PAs) are based in Connexions Centres and can be found in schools, colleges, youth centres and high street locations.
Connexions Buckinghamshire delivers the Connexions service in Buckinghamshire, offering advice and help to some 42,000 young people in the area. With the establishment of Children's Trusts bringing all services for children and young people into an area together, Connexions Buckinghamshire is managed by Buckinghamshire County Council.
Young people are at the heart of the service and they are directly involved and consulted in the design and development of Connexions, from the recruitment of Connexions PAs and marketing the Connexions service, to contract negotiations and mystery shopping.
