Create a Bucks 2012 slogan? You could be a winner!

The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympics Games are coming to Buckinghamshire and we need a slogan for promotion across the county to welcome visitors.  Interested?

A competition for young people aged 13 to 19 years* is running to produce a slogan of no more than 10 words that says what Buckinghamshire is about.  A youth panel will judge the competition.

Leon's blog: UKYP House of Commons Debate 2011

On the 4th November 2011, Members of Youth Parliament from all parts of the UK travelled to Westminster to debate and vote on issues that matters to young people.

The debate topics were chosen based on a ballot that over 65,000 youths across the country filled in.

The selection for candidates to stand in the forthcoming elections, which take place from November 2011 will start in September.

What is the UK Youth Parliament?

Daniel's blog: Young Trustee Teambuilding Day

On the 30th July the young trustees from Connexions Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Oxford all met up at Longridge activities centre for a beautiful day of teambuilding and communication.

When everyone arrived we first had an informal chat where we learnt everyone’s names, where they were from and a bit about them.  We then all played a game where we had to draw a picture but we couldn’t see it and had to rely on our partners verbal communication skills. This game resulted in some interesting pictures but was it was great fun!

Robyn’s blog: After A Levels - straight into work and study for my degree

Having spent two years at school studying my A levels, school kind of just expected everyone to apply to uni and go off to their first or assurance choice depending on the grades that they got in the summer.  It was only after I considered having a gap year doing some work to get some money before going to university that I really realised the other options that I had. I started looking on the internet and in the paper for any job vacancies in any areas of work that appealed to me.

Results Day
The day you might dread, the day you might loathe, or perhaps the day you might love…apart from the beginning of school, it is definitely Results Day! To those who had received their A Level results yesterday, I hope they were fantastic. Likewise, those who will receive their GCSE results on the 25th August – good luck!

This short entry would hopefully give you some advice (or a reminder, as you probably know what to do already!) on what happens next, whether you achieved the grades you wanted or not.
