Hi, and welcome back to the ‘Help offered by Connexions’ blog!

If you missed the first part you can check it out at this link: Richard's blog

This time I’ll talk about how Connexions can help you write your CV and prepare you for your job interviews.

As I said previously, one of Connexions main services is helping young people find jobs.  The next most important service Connexions offers is helping young people get the jobs they find.

The first step to getting a job is applying to one, either with your CV or an application form.  Connexions PAs can help you write your CV from scratch, or help you touch up your CV if you already have one.  PAs can also help you fill out an application form.

The second step to getting a job is probably the most difficult part for a lot of people.  If you are successful in your application you will be invited to a job interview.  Connexions PAs can help you prepare with mock interviews and helpful pointers.

You can attend CV and interview skill workshops held in High Wycombe and Aylesbury every week.  You can book yourself into one of the workshops over the phone or by visiting this link: http://www.connexionsbucks.org.uk/content/cv-and-interview-skills-workshops

It's good to keep in mind that even though you may not succeed at any point, especially at the interview, you’ll have a better chance at it next time; as you’ll have more experience than before!

If you would like any help you can drop in to a Connexions centre between 1pm - 5pm, Monday – Friday.  Or you can phone us and make an appointment if you would like to see one of us in the morning.
