Apprenticeships
These are designed around the needs of employers, which lead to national qualifications, providing young people to continue learning while they earn a wage and gain the skills they require for their chosen career.  Funding is available for employers to train apprentices.  Over 80% of those employers who employ apprentices agree they make their workplace more productive, leading to a more motivated and satisfied workforce.

Small Employer Apprenticeship Incentive
This enables small employers to recruit new employees aged 16-24 into sustainable jobs that provide the opportunity for the young person to achieve a national recognised qualification.

Youth Contract Scheme
A new scheme to give employers subsidies to employ young people aged 18-24 for six months.
